  1. Interesting play on multiple numerical symbol conventions to create a rhyming phrase: “13/11” for the thirteenth of November by European (and Israeli) convention, “9/11” for the eleventh of September by American convention, tied together by a rhyme between “eleven” and “seven”, where the latter is part of a different conventional shorthand expressing not a day and a month but rather the cyclical quantities of hours and weekdays that signify “at all times”.

What might it take, I wonder, to augment this rhyme with the punch-line of human determination: “Never again!”?

    1. I wish we could really make it “never again,” but such violence happens all too often and it will continue (and probably escalate) until Messiah’s return.

  2. Yes James, it will continue as you say until Messiah’s return. Only THEN will the currently vain hope of “Never Again” be realised for a time, during the 1000 years of His reign. After that there will again be a brief period of rebellion and intended violence until God Himself brings a permanent end to it from heaven.

Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Apart from the attack on Paris over the weekend, we should not forget the very recent attacks in Egypt with the downed plane and in Lebanon – both nations being Israel’s immediate neighbours.

  3. There are the constant critics who have complained that “the media” called the ringleader in Paris a “mastermind.” Just want to clear up that it was the prosecutor in France who used that word. Nevertheless, most in the press on “the left” anyway have self-assessed and decided not to continue using the word except as in the quotation. I also hear complaining (in posted news articles with unedited video and sound clips) that leaflets were dropped before the fuel transport trucks were bombed in the Levant. A snide and utterly flaked-out remark [as if he had just discovered he loathes Obama, which of course we know is not the case, Michael Savage of “savage nation” was completely flummoxed that anyone might do this] that Obama is therefore “more than a passivist and liberal.” If Israel is more than passivist and liberal. I get so tired of loud mouths impugning those they hate — and largely doing it by spouting their own ignorance.

Am watching MSNBC for a little while today, was looking at Al Jazeera America last night (posted about that in a different thread); on the topic today of Mali, we have a former (recent) ambassador (currently a dean at George Washington University and a representative of the U.S. to the U.N.) using the designation “Islamist extremists” (not new terminology, despite all the accusations of anyone not on fox news and the bizzaro shows). They “cannot be negotiated with… must be confronted… we have to work with our allies in the region.”

  4. Now, on to other discussions and specialists. “Sharia law,” Islamization” — there is and has not been (for months and years) any shying away from frank analysis. Love your neighbor.
